Performance Opportunities
Dance Del Bello is a not-for-profit dance company in residence at Pennsylvania Dance Institute. Founded in 1982 under the artistic direction of Delphine Del Bello-Spencer, the company is run by a Board of Directors and presently has two performance seasons annually. The company's repertoire consists of modern dance works, neo-classical pieces and full length ballets including Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Coppelia. Our annual production of the ballet "A Christmas Carol" has won critical acclaim for its choreography by David Kloss.
Mr. Kloss, former principle dancer with the Pennsylvania Ballet, is the company's Artistic Advisor. Dance Del Bello's roster includes resident guest professionals who regularly perform with the company. As students develop technically they may be asked to join the company as a Jr. Apprentice, moving up to Apprentice, and finally Company Member. Children as young as 4 have the opportunity to perform with the company.
Additional Opportunities
Pennsylvania Dance Institute Annual Spring Dance Conert:
We offer students of all levels the opportunity to perform in the annual dance concert in the late spring. As performing is an integral part of dancing, we believe students of all levels should have the chance to express themselves through movement on stage. Students will be given the dance concert information in the winter. Participation in the Annual Dance Concert is encouraged but not required.
